These antique wooden bobbins were a regular feature in the mills in Northern England, used for for twisting wool on machines dating back to the early Victorian days of the industrial era.
They would have been made with local wood by artisan bobbin workers employed at the mill.
*Please note they do show blemishes and patina collected over the years which creates their own individuality....
I use them for all kinds of projects including stitch wraps, heirloom wall hangings, ribbon storage, mixed media collage and so much more....
Measuring approx 12" with one end having a metal rimĀ
