Following the success of my first publication, 'Stitched Memories' with Search Press I am SO delighted to be able to bring to you my second book...... 'Daydream Journals'

I have used a Daydream journal alongside my designs for many years.

It is neither a sketchbook, a diary nor a design project planner.

I know many textile artists will disagree with me here as many are very adamant that these are essential to their work and creativity, but I can say this quite happily, I am a daydreamer...a professional textile artist of course but a daydreamer none the less...

I have been daydreaming since I was a child!

I am no expert journaller in the conventional way. I don't stick to any rules or obey any design concepts. I simply use my journal as my faithful friend to accompany me on walks, in workshops, on holiday or day visits as I meambe my way through my day.

I've always been fascinated by the little things that help create our days.

Inspirations surround us all the time in every day snippets of ordinary sights and sounds, as do words and language, textures, patterns and colours and most of the time we miss them as for many, these little delights simply blend into the background of everyday living....

It's these kind of things I like to capture in my Daydream Journal to save for a rainy day just when I need a little nudge of inspiration. I then dip in and out of my journal when I want to use some of my collected inspirations for something creative for a slow stitch project, a mixed media collage, a poem of textures of even a special keepsake using dates and times from my memories...

I love collecting doodles, words, drawings, textures, different pieces of nonsense that make me smile and in turn, my little pockets of joy start to create their own symphony of delights with a little help with serendipity thrown in for good measure!

So, to re-assure you all, you don't need to be able to draw, nor paint, you don't to be artistic nor poetic. You simply need to be curious....
